HOW TO FIND US

The Schuylkill River has four miles of very good water on which to train, between the Fayette Street Bridge and the Flat Rock Dam to the south. There are highly visible warning markers 100 yards above the dam. The normal river current is noticeable to the rowers but is not an appreciable factor except after a heavy rainfall. If the river is closed after a rainfall, the high waters pass through and the river is reopened a day or two sooner than downstream near Boathouse Row. The southern section of the waters used by WBC is seasonally shared with some resident motor boaters and some fishermen who use the Lower Merion Park boat ramp. The upper three miles of this section are used almost exclusively by rowers.
